Biography

Mr. Carnes graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 1992. For the next ten years he practiced business litigation with large law firms, with most of that time spent with Locke Liddell & Sapp, LLP. His practice encompasses all aspects of business and family law litigation, and his clients include large banking institutions and construction firms, small family-owned businesses, and individuals.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Carnes worked in banking and in corporate finance. Originally from Denton, Texas, Tom obtained his BBA and MBA degrees from the University of North Texas as a self-supporting student.

Mr. Carnes is married to Beverly Carnes, who is a speech-language pathologist. They share their lives with Emma, Tom's daughter from his prior marriage.

Biography

Mr. Ely graduated from Rice University in 1984. After graduating, he worked in banking before attending law school at the University of Houston Law Center. He graduated from law school magna cum laude in 1997 and was licensed to practice law that year. John practiced at Locke Liddell & Sapp LLP where he practiced business litigation. His clients have ranged from the largest companies in the nation to small businesses and individuals.

Mr. Ely was born in Abilene, Texas and lived in many parts of the United States before settling down in Houston permanently in 1978. He is married to Michelle Ely, whose primary avocation is keeping track of their two sons Duncan and Daniel.
